Mattison's Siesta Grille has planned to celebrate our One Year Anniversary and would like to make this an event to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. We have organized a reunion of Mike Moran's six piece Bourbon Street Dixieland Jazz Band (all of whom are playing for free), a New Orleans buffet featuring Crawfish Etoufee, Bananas Foster and Oysters Po Boys and Bayou beverage specials. Proceeds will go to the Red Cross Relief Fund.

Sarasota Sunshine VFW Post 3233 and The Mayor's Project for Veterans and Military Families present Steppin' Out for Our Soldiers, a rousing dance spanning the generations. The dance will feature the big band sound of The Sarasota Big Band Jazz Ensemble, followed by the Electric Myakka Band with music from the '60s. Raffles, beer and wine, and nostalgia will make for a fun night out for veterans and their families, couples, singles and senior groups or clubs!

Mattison's Catering Company Director, Anna Pohl (shown on the left in the image) was honored recently by the Gulf Coast Business Review. Each year the publication honors 40 business men and women under the age of 40. Candidates are judged on their career accomplishments, levels of expertise and responsibility in their fields and community involvement.

Anna Pohl was amoung those honored for their hard work and achievement in the community, but this came as no surprise to those who work with Anna.
