Mattison’s Chef Camp

Chef Camp Summer 2015

During the Summer of 2015, Mattison’s hosts four different Chef Camp sessions during the months of June, July, and August through Sarasota County Parks and Recreation.

• learn cooking techniques from the chefs at Mattison’s Forty-One
• four themed sessions: Basic Chef Camp, Basic Pastry Camp, Advanced Pastry Camp, Advanced International Camp
• campers put their new skills to work as they prepare a graduation lunch sampling for two guests
• each camper receives a chef hat
• campers must wear long pants, closed-toed athletic or rubber soled shoes and long hair must be in a ponytail
• camp sessions sell out quickly, so be sure to reserve your slot early
• online registration classes limited

Schedule for 2015

Basic Chef Camp – children learn how a restaurant runs including hands-on kitchen experience, safety, food-handling techniques, and dining room training
June 8-12 from 8:30-11am

Basic Pastry Camp
June 29-July 3
from 8:30-11am - children learn basic workings of pastries with attention to weights and measures preparing everything from quick breads, cupcakes, cookies, and cheesecake
• ages 10-15
• space limited, $190

Advanced Pastry Camp, Christmas in July must have completed Basic Pastry Camp - this camp teaches more complicated pastry techniques offering hands-on training, featuring traditional Christmas Holiday specialties
